What is Chef by Request?

At Chef by Request our focus is providing healthy and delicious meals right to your doorstep. Meals are prepared fresh each day and sent out for delivery in the evening, ready for you to enjoy the following day. We cater our meals to your individual needs and preferences, customizing a program to fit your lifestyle and help you reach your goals. All of our meals follow a 40/30/30 rule in composition, meaning they are 40% low-glycemic carbohydrates, 30% lean proteins, and 30% favorable fats. This meal composition is proven to help balance insulin levels and regulate blood sugar. When this occurs you benefit from the natural loss of excess body fat, maximum physical performance, and even heightened mental clarity.

Do I have to cook or prepare the food?

No! All of our meals and snacks are designed by our team of local chefs, made from the highest-quality ingredients, and fully-prepared in our Mesa Kitchen. Meals arrive ready to eat and can be heated either in a microwave or transferred to an oven-safe dish for oven heating.

Where are my meals cooked?

All of our food is cooked, prepared & packaged in our Mesa Kitchen. Our team of chefs use the highest-quality ingredients (always local and organic whenever possible) to create your fresh (never frozen) meals every day.

What types of programs do you offer?

We offer two different types of meal delivery programs to best suite your lifestyle needs. Packages:
Our Packages Plan works best for customers seeking everyday, regular, or scheduled meal delivery. You can choose your menu, the length of your plan & your delivery schedule. Once your preferences are set, you will automatically receive meal delivery according to your specific requests. No hassle, no everyday ordering—just healthy & nutritious meals automatically delivered to your doorstep. Plus you get free bonus days for committing to a plan!
Flex Plan:
Our Paleo Flex & Zone Flex options work best for customers seeking to pick & choose specific meals for specific days. With these menus, you can select meals and quantities from the upcoming menu online and we will deliver only what you specifically order to your doorstep

How do I know which menu is right for me?

All of our menus are designed with our 40/30/30 macronutrient breakdown, so all of our menus are perfectly balanced for optimum health. Dietary restrictions or specific health concerns can determine which menu is right for you.

  • Zone: Our standard healthy menu that will offer you a delicious and balanced diet.
  • Paleo: This menu follows the same Zone macro breakdown, and is also free of all gluten, dairy, wheat, soy, and legumes.
  • Whole 30: These meals stem from the Paleo menu, with some added restrictions to make them Whole 30 compliant.
  • Vegetarian: The same great Zone menu, without any of the meat. We use a variety of vegetarian proteins and plant-based ingredients in every meal.

When do you deliver?

We are currently only offering Pick-up. Delivery is a service we plan on offering in the future please register for our news letter and we will inform you once we start delivering.

What if I want to order for two or more people?

Since every program is specifically customized to your goals, portion needs, dietary preferences, and schedules, we recommend placing separate orders for each person. Each order is linked to an account through your email address, so we also recommend using a different email address for each person. The only exception would be if you’re placing a Flex Plan order with meals for multiple people in a home, and you all have the same restrictions.

Can I choose my meals?

You can order specific meals and snacks off of Paleo Flex and Zone Flex menus. The menus are always available at least one week in advance so that you can properly plan your upcoming meals.

How do I cancel my pick-up?

If you don’t need meals for certain days or you’re going out of town, you can notify us at ahead of time so that we cancel deliveries for those dates. If you need to make adjustments to your delivery schedule, please take note of the following deadlines.
For Washington & Oregon customers:
Add or cancel meals for: Sunday Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday Saturday Need notification by: Friday at 10am Friday at 5pm Monday at 10am Tuesday at 10am Wednesday at 10am Wednesday at 10am Friday at 10am.

Arizona: All meal changes and cancelations must be processed no later than 48 hours prior to pick up day.

What if I want to cancel my program?

Meals and programs purchased are non-refundable. We strive to make sure you love each and every meal you receive and will always work with you to make improvements to your personal profile to make sure that’s the case. We don’t have contracts so you can choose exactly what you want to order and how long you want to commit. You’re never locked into a surprise sneaky contract (those are the worst!) If you’ve never ordered with us before, we recommend starting with À la Carte. It’s a great way to try the meals, customize your personal preferences, and receive a few deliveries before committing to a long-term program. Credits purchased with us never expire, and you can put your plan on pause anytime you’d like.


How soon can I begin receiving meal deliveries?

When you place an order, you can choose a specific start date in the future or you can choose “Begin ASAP”. When you choose ASAP, one of our Wellness Consultants will reach out to you within one business day to notify you of the earliest start date available. Typically, you can start receiving meals within 2-3 days of placing an order.

Where do you deliver?

We currently deliver all throughout Washington & Oregon as well as Boise, Idaho and Arizona.

When do you deliver?

The specific delivery window depends on your delivery location.

Do you deliver on weekends?

Yes, we offer meal delivery for every day of the week, including weekends.

When will my meals arrive?

Washington, Boise, Idaho & Oregon customers:

  • Monday’s menu is delivered Monday afternoon with the Breakfast and Lunch included meant for consumption on Tuesday
  • Tuesday’s menu is delivered Tuesday afternoon with the Breakfast and Lunch included meant for consumption on Wednesday
  • Wednesday’s menu is delivered Wednesday afternoon with the Breakfast and Lunch included meant for consumption on Thursday
  • Thursday’s/Friday’s menus are delivered Thursday afternoon with the Breakfast and Lunch included meant for consumption on Friday and Saturday
  • Saturday’s/Sunday’s menus are delivered Saturday afternoon with the Breakfast and Lunch included meant for consumption on Sunday and Monday
Arizona customers:
  • Saturday’s, Sunday’s and Monday’s menus arrive together Saturday afternoon with the Breakfasts and Lunches included meant for consumption on Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday
  • Tuesday’s/Wednesday’s menus are delivered Tuesday afternoon with the Breakfast and Lunch included meant for consumption on Wednesday and Thursday
  • Thursday’s/Friday’s menus are delivered Thursday afternoon with the Breakfast and Lunch included meant for consumption on Friday and Saturday

What if my bags are stolen?

In the very rare and unlikely event that your bags are stolen before you’re able to bring them inside, please contact us immediately at , We will do our best to figure out what happened & work with you to find a solution in order to prevent it from happening again in the future. We will credit the first occurrence so you don’t lose the value of the meals lost, and then work together to find a solution. Future occurrences will not be credited.

Will my food stay fresh in transit?

Our meals are delivered in insulated cooler bags with ice packs designed to keep your meals cool, the meals will still be cold and fresh! Please transfer your meals in your refrigerator upon delivery for optimum freshness.

Can I provide specific instructions for deliveries?

Yes! We deliver to all types of locations—homes, apartments, offices, etc. When you place a new order, you can provide specific instructions for delivery, such as building access codes and drop-off location preferences in the Delivery Notes section of your order.

What happens if the courier can’t access my building?

We can put courier codes, spare keys, or callbox instructions on file so the driver has building access if you live in a condo or apartment building. Our goal is to make the process as simple and convenient as possible, so we prefer courier access codes over buzzing you from a callbox so they don’t have to bother you! If buzzing you via a callbox is the only option for your building, we’ll provide a 2 hour time frame you can expect the delivery. If the driver is unable to reach you via the callbox the meals will be stored in a refrigerator and we’ll attempt delivery again in the evening. Deliveries that are delayed due to a callbox issue will not be credited, but we will make multiple attempts to make sure they get to you! If we are experiencing ongoing difficulties gaining access to your building, we will work with you to find a secondary location or solution for future deliveries.

How do I modify my delivery time/address/instructions?

Any requested changes to your delivery account can be sent directly to our Wellness Consultant team at You can also call us to modify your account at 1-877-878-5777.

What do I do with the cooler bags and ice packs in my delivery?

Our black cooler bags and ice packs are reusable. Please zip the cooler bags with ice packs inside, and place the empty bags outside in the same location you receive your deliveries. Our courier service will pick up the empty bags and replace them with your new meals each night.

Can I recycle the meal packaging containers??

Yes! All of our containers are either 100% recyclable or compostable. Please rinse your containers and recycle them at your home. Due to food safety regulations, we cannot reuse any of the meal packaging containers.


What makes Chef by Request Meals healthy?

All of our meals are made fresh with the highest-quality ingredients—locally sourced and organic whenever possible. Our team of chefs design our menus to follow a macronutrient breakdown of 40% low glycemic carbohydrates, 30% lean proteins, and 30% favorable fats. Meals are perfectly balanced to regulate insulin levels, which helps boost your metabolism and keep you fuller and energized for longer.

Are your meals gluten-free?

Our Paleo & Whole 30 menus are always gluten-free and dairy-free, and follow all of the dietary restrictions to make them compliant with standard Paleo and Whole 30 programs.

Do you have a low-sodium and low-sugar option?

All of our meals are both low-sodium and low-sugar! We don’t use any added salts, refined sugars, preservatives, or additives in our meals. We’d be happy to talk about specific limitations to your diet to find the best program fit.

Do I have to cook or prepare the food?

No! All of our meals and snacks are delivered to you fully prepared and ready to eat. You can either microwave the meals for about 2 minutes or you can warm them up in an oven-safe dish in the oven.

Can you accommodate food allergies/preferences/ like & dislikes?

We will always do our best to honor any accommodations you request, whenever possible. If there is more than 3 restrictions to any one meal, you will need to either select a different meal or we will not be able to fulfill your order.

I am very active. Will this be enough food for me?

We service a wide variety of professional athletes, active customers & fitness professionals with our meal delivery services. We work closely with these customers in order to tailor our programs to best suit their nutritional needs. If you find that you need to supplement our programs with more food, we always suggest adding low-sugar protein bars, protein shakes, or other lean protein snacks to your daily diet.

How many calories are in each meal?

While calories are important to watch, they are not as important to our program as eating the right foods and the right combinations. This is why we place a strong emphasis on macronutrient breakdowns & healthy lifestyle choices. Our various meal plan sizes average out to the following calorie counts:
Small — Meals: 300 calories, Snacks: 150 calories, Daily Total (on full program): 1200 calories
Large — Meals: 500 calories, Snacks: 150 calories, Daily Total (on full program): 1800 calories

Do I need to stop consuming caffeine and alcohol when on the program?

Caffeine and alcohol can be both dehydrating and hard on your body. In order to maximize your results on our program, we suggest that you eliminate (or at least severely limit) your consumption of caffeine and alcohol. We recommend that you instead focus on water consumption, and drink at least 8 glasses of water per day.

How much should I order?

Our Individual meals are designed to serve one person. BestLife meals are here for your convenience, so order as much or as little as you need each week for lunch or dinner.

How long do the meals last?

If kept refrigerated, BestLife meals will last 5-7 days. This way you can meal plan for the whole week. Not sure you'll get to your meal in time? Just throw it in the freezer.

How do I reheat the meals?

Individual meals arrive in a microwave safe container so you can just grab, zap & go. Heat for 3-4 minutes.

Can you accommodate allergies? How about Vegetarian or Vegan?

Yes we can. We take allergies very seriously. Whether its a nut allergy, gluten sensitivity or even just a preference. Please let us know at the time of your order what the issue may be and we'll contact you to discuss the best course of action.

How do I get my meals?

At the time of ordering just choose pickup or delivery. Pickups and deliveries are scheduled for Sundays and Mondays.

How can I pay for my meals?

You can pay for your BestLife meals via Venmo (@Tony-BestLife), credit card or with cash at time of delivery.

Do I need to be home for the delivery?

You don’t need to be home at time of delivery, but please leave a cooler with ice packs for your meals.

Where do you deliver?

We deliver to most towns on the North Shore. Just plug in your zip code at time of checkout to see if we deliver to your town, there may be a delivery charge based on your location. Pickup is always free at our kitchen in Danvers.
